YOU CAN SING!

If you can speak and are able to hear then you can sing - it's all about gaining confidence and being given encouragement and motivation along the way.

Sing for Fun run various singing workshops which give people the opportunity to find their voice in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.  There is no need to be able to read music or for any previous singing experience.

At Sing For Fun we just love to sing!  We don’t have soloists and emphasis is placed on the overall sound with everyone singing out with one voice in harmony.  We don’t catergorise voices – everyone can have a go at singing the tune or the harmony.

There are no choreographed moves but we do find that many Sing For Fun singers find it hard to stand still when they are singing! 

The aim of our singing workshops is to help build confidence in singing and give people the opportunity to sing as part of a group.  No one has to sing by themselves and there is no audition to join. A wide range of styles are covered including pop, rock, A capella (unaccompanied) and musical theatre.

10 WEEK ADULT SINGING WORKSHOPS

These sessions are for anyone who wants to sing. Maybe you haven't sung since schooldays, only sing in shower or the car or have never sung before but would like to take the first step.  Perhaps you have sung in the past and just want to join other people who love singing.

Over the 10 weeks we look at a selection of songs from different genres.  Each workshop starts with a few fun vocal warm ups which help with breathing, pitch and vocal range. Our workshops are very friendly and sociable – because we don’t put people into specific voice groups you are able to move around the group from song to song depending on whether you choose to sing the tune or harmony. 

The hardest thing about joining Sing For Fun will be walking through the door for the first time – after that it’s just fun.

10 week singing workshops are held in Andover, Basingstoke, Camberley, Newbury, Reading, Salisbury and Winchester.

Each workshop runs weekly from 7.30pm - 9.30pm with a short break.  £90 per 10 week term.

TASTER SESSIONS

Come and meet us and see what the Sing for Fun workshops are all about.   There will be a chance to have a chat with the tutors and other Sing For Fun members.  No one will have to sing by themselves. No experience necessary only enthusiasm. You will be singing all the way home – guaranteed!   All workshops run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.  COME AND GIVE IT A TRY!

SING FOR FUN PERFORMANCE SINGERS

Any current member of Sing For Fun is welcome to join the Sing For Fun Performance Singers which is a group made up from members of all the Sing For Fun workshops.  The Performance Singers sing at various events throughout the year, often raising money for charity.  There is no extra charge to be part of the Performance Singers.  Past performances have been at The Royal Berkshire County Show, Highclere Castle, The Oracle Reading, Festival Place Basingstoke, Kennett Centre Newbury, Hawk Conservancy Andover, along with many fetes and flower shows.
